Anyone know how he's doing? Was his brother Jacob always the better of the two? Or did the triumvirate of Warnock, Harris and McCarthy just completely ruin him as a player? What a terrible waste.

I'm sure he was a cracking player at Norwich?Originally posted by NYCBlue View PostAnyone know how he's doing? Was his brother Jacob always the better of the two? Or did the triumvirate of Warnock, Harris and McCarthy just completely ruin him as a player? What a terrible waste.

Re: Josh Murphy
He's looked a worse player for us in the Championship than he was in the PremOriginally posted by tforturton View PostLet's be honest, he's a decent enough player, but too inconsistent, and definitely lacks that final decision making process, that marks out the top players. We paid too much for him.

Re: Josh Murphy
From my memories of him in the top flight he was happy to hover around the half way line looking for an opportunity to attack. He got fans standing up in anticipation. He had pace, was direct and could score goals. He was never that defensively minded.Originally posted by Wash DC Blue View PostI've a feeling that we started the rot with him.
There is 100% a player in there.
If he has the mental fortitude to dig it out himself of if someone else can get it out is another matter.
He's possibly a player who would thrive in the top flight but when asked to be the team player needed in the Championship it wasn't his game.

I'd certainly bring him back in January if it is feasible though.

Re: Josh Murphy
He wasn’t getting anywhere with Preston before that though - we could do with a winger, but although I’d definitely think of getting Wintle and Watters back, I don’t think I’d bother with Murphy.Originally posted by dandywarhol View Post

Re: Josh Murphy
he's only got a few months left on his contract, doesn't fit that well into the current system and is on a big wage.Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostHe wasn’t getting anywhere with Preston before that though - we could do with a winger, but although I’d definitely think of getting Wintle and Watters back, I don’t think I’d bother with Murphy.
I definitely think he's got talent and have always willed him to do well, but it isn't going to happen
