Re: Chester FC Is Now English

Bit confusing this innit. TNS are based in Oswestry, Shopshire but in their case playing in Cymru Premier means they have to follow Wales' Covid rules.

'THE New Saints FC will have to adhere to Welsh regulation with regards to fans returning to stadiums, despite their stadium being situated in England....But the Welsh Government has stated TNS must follow their rules, in accordance with the other teams in the Welsh leagues."

A Welsh Government spokesperson, said: “The coronavirus regulations are relevant in the country in which the activity takes place. The Football Association of Wales manages the Cymru Premier league and TNS would need to make sure they comply with the specific league rules and regulations too.”

Logic would indicate that could lead to EUFA sanctions against the LoW as it indicates clear political intervention in the running of a club within the league structure, contrary to EUFA regulations.

That is just poor journalism, what the WG spokesman was quoted as saying (at the time) seems correct, the papers spin/interpretation does not seem correct.

Logic would indicate it's a direct quote and that blaming spin/interpretation is a deflection tactic.

"The coronavirus regulations are relevant in the country in which the activity takes place. The Football Association of Wales manages the Cymru Premier league and TNS would need to make sure they comply with the specific league rules and regulations too.”

          Key points :-

Coronavirus regulations relevant in the country in which the activity takes place. Chester FC is a registered English club where policing at games is performed by English police, nor Welsh. The registered offices are in England.

The second part of the quote is irrelevant; these was WG rules not FAW league rules and regulations.

it's clear political interference with a club.

If the activity takes place in Wales, Welsh rules apply.

Logic would indicate yet again you fail to grasp the nuances.

If the activity takes place in Wales, then the sporting event is regulated by Welsh police. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN FOR CHESTER FC GAMES they are managed by English police, something you fail to understand. During previous lockdowns, Chester abided by English rules and Dripford said precisely zero.

Now, if "Welsh rules apply for activities in Wales" then your argument fails to explain TNS where WG are demanding *their* rules apply when activities take place in England.

I can see why your fellow Jack fans mock you relentlessly.

They don't demand their rules apply to TNS, TNS (for now) choose to follow WG rules.

Logic would be wise to aim to be a bit less sanctimonious when logic doesn't recognise that the European football governing body is called UEFA - not "EUFA".
