They’re a small club in the Dutch 2nd tier with a budget of €5m and they’re certainly making the most of what they’ve got.

There are elements of the Brentford approach - picking up the cast offs with potential. It just goes to show what can be done.

Interesting approach. Could be the way forward.

Incidentally, if anyone's ever visiting Amsterdam, Volendam is a good place to stay. There's a nice holiday park there (just across the road from the football ground) and the bus to the centre of Amsterdam stops right outside and takes about half an hour. Nice little village too.
