Re: a nice shade?
'Lampard leading candidate after Everton interviews'
Frank Lampard is the leading candidate to be appointed as Everton manager after club held a board meeting and interviews on Friday night to decide Rafael Benitezs successor; Duncan Ferguson and Vitor Pereira were also interviewed in Fridays final round
This was 25 minutes ago so not confirmed as far as I can see.
Would make sense.
Good player, has managerial experience in the Champ and Prem and has many contacts in the game.
I don't mind Everton, probably only because of my dislike of Liverpool mind you, but it would be nice to see them in the Championship.
Without looking it up, I think I'm right in saying that they've never been relegated.

Re: a nice shade?
Indeed. Woolwich Arsenal were relegated in 1913. After the war, 3 sides were promoted from that division - Derby as champions, Preston as runners-up and Arsenal, who finished in 5th, yet Barnsley and Wolves finished above them in 1915. That must have been a bitter pill for Spurs, who were relegated in 1915 to the second division.Originally posted by Hilts View PostArsenal I believe are the only side never to be relegated though Woolwich Arsenal were.
I think they are also the only team never to be promoted via league position.

Tottenham were fuming over that and the fact that the Arsenal were a South London outfit that relocated to their territory.Originally posted by Eric the Half a Bee View PostIndeed.
