  • More bizarre post-match comments about Izaak Davies

Morison said: "I thought Isaak Davies when he came on was phenomenal, changed the game” which is as far wide of the mark as the rubbish that he came out with about Davies after the Bournemouth game.

He was as poor as the rest of them and certainly didn’t ‘change the game’ 🤦*♂️🤦*♂️

What an odd thing to say.

I thought he was excellent when he came on. Really changed the tempo and dragged us up field.

Phenomenal is definitely a bit strong, but I thought Davies did well, just like he did on Sunday.

I thought Davies was one of our better players, caused Barnsley issues on a few occasions. Don't see the issue in a manager bogging up a young player for doing well.

Maybe it's also a case that Morison realises he went to far with previous comments, and his is his way of atoning.

Morison gets shit on for criticizing a young player. Morison then gets shit on for praising a young player.

I assume some people would only be happy if he answered every question with a monosyllabic response?

I wondered why he wasn't running very fast for a speedster. He'd been bogged up by the manage 😂

Davies put in a good shift when he came on, certainly wasn’t poor.

To be fair, there are another 29 kids in that classroom waiting for a bite of that cracker.

Edit: Totally agree with the sentiment and a good example btw

Fair point this, although the thought of Morison trying to atone by overpraising is pretty funny..."for me, after that performance, Issac has to be up there in the conversation for the Ballon D'or"

Thought he did well and did what he was no doubt told to do. Stretched their defence, got us up the pitch, put them on the back foot. No clear cut chances created but let’s be honest it just wasn’t one of those nights where we kept possession and opened up the opposition. Maybe also a case of them tiring too but definitely an improvement when Davies come on.

Blimey if you thought that was a ‘phenomenal’ performance from Davies then you have some serious issues!

I was very critical of his Bournemouth interview but no issue with him going overboard on his praise last night. Much prefer that to the latter.

Yes they are young men playing a mans game now but as a kid (in football terms) breaking through surely its better to be lavished with praise than be criticised. Give them the confidence to kick on.

It feels as if Morison may be trying too hard to atone those previous comments.
