The three attackers found guilty. What an awful crime and tragedy. I hope they lock them up and throw away the key.

Re: Murder in Bute Park guilty verdict
Shocking just the lowest forms of humanity. Im totally against the death penalty but when you see utter vermin like these it makes you question your beliefs
Seeing a possible 12 year minimum is wrong.
These scum shouldnt have 30 and 12 years. Life without parole.

Re: Murder in Bute Park guilty verdict
The three of them kicked, stamped on and punched the victim for nearly 15 minutes yet somehow chose to plead not guilty to murder... then they all chose not to stand in the witness box to utter a word in their own defence. The prosecution barrister implied in his opening address that the female, who was 16 at the time, was the scummiest human among the defendants, which is remarkable as one of the others, Strickland, is a career thief, aggressive beggar and home burglar.
By going not guilty and wasting everyone's time running a trial the judge is free to hammer them to the maximum the law allows in his sentencing. The males are likely to get 32 to 35 years minimum, she'd be lucky to receive anything below 16 years minimum.

Let’s hope so that Strickland bloke looks too familiar to me for some reason….Originally posted by Organ Morgan. Re: Murder in Bute Park guilty verdict
I saw him begging fairly regularly in that small park area between Argos and Central Market. Although I had no idea of his name or background. He was memorable because he always wore the same clothes.Originally posted by goats View PostLet’s hope so that Strickland bloke looks too familiar to me for some reason….

Vile individuals. Scary to see how this kind of brainless thuggery can escalate so quickly into an event like this. Too many of these aggressive, braindead scumbags wandering around the city centre. Poor bloke didn't have a chance. Fair play to the lad who tried to get involved aswell

Re: Murder in Bute Park guilty verdict
I wish I hadn't read that either. I wish for so many reasons but mainly right now because I knew him, as I was his patient who he treated as a professional and with care and understanding that exceeded any I had previously received for mental health issues.Originally posted by Wash DC Blue View PostSo sad and senseless.
I wish that I didn't read that story.
Several years ago he had the unenviable task of sitting me down and telling me about the brain lesions that had shown up in the MRI. He was amazing. He fast-tracked me to see a Neurologist, he made a myriad phone calls to healthcare professionals and basically spent the next hours helping me through a very difficult time.
I feel sick. My wife has been in tears and sobbing after reading this (of course, she knew him too as she'd been with me throughout and spoke to him several times on the phone).
I'd spent years being pushed from pillar to post by psychiatrists until Gary took me seriously. He listened. For the first time in five terrible years of psychoses, someone cared and helped me.
I didn't know this is how he died. I hadn't read anything as I avoid so much of the media as it's not healthy for me.
A few hours ago I was joking about towels with TLG and feeling great. You can imagine how I feel now.
I was meant to see him last July. It didn't happen.
This post may sound like it's about me but it isn't. This is about Gary. I mentioned victims of ASB in a post recently and humanising those victims.
I don't understand the minds of the people who did this to him. It's horrific. It's ironic that Gary would have been able to and could have helped them. It's also so sad that he really needed someone to talk to.
Gary became as close to a friend as any professional could be. RIP.
