Or it could be the huge number of key players that don't play for the u23s anymore, today's side had several u18s starting. A 15 year old even ended up playing, that's a big gap physically

Only Bowen and Semenyo from today’s team were playing for the under 23s at the start of the season and only Kavanagh became a fairly regular starter when we were winning all of those games pre Christmas. Ashford figured occasionally as well, but you only have to look at today’s back three to see how much has changed - pre Christmas, Bakare only played if one of the regulars was missing for some reason, whereas he was “experienced old hand” at the back today.
