I think this is a realistic appointment in the circumstances. The ship needs to be steadied before a younger manager is brought in.

Isn’t that what we got told before Warnock came in (abeit with a lot of success)
When will we stop looking for a stop gap manager to steady to ship, and just bite the bullet and get someone in who we will give time to rebuild this club and the philosophy.

We're going to know a lot more about the club's future plans from:

              - MM first couple of interviews
              - what the board says when announcing him
              - what happens in the summer: whether MM stays on and what new players are brought in
              - (if he stays on, how things progress next year)

No need to judge just on the name being announced.

Harris had to go. The fact that the board look like they're appointing someone completely underwhelming doesn't change that fact.

The people who "hounded out" Harris aren't to blame for this: the board are! Any suggestion to the contrary is complete bollocks.

Not my choice, but it depends on how long the contract is. If it's not just until the end of the season then it's worse than we thought with those idiots at the club. Mccarthy was decent in the transfer market at wolves, especially at bringing lower level players in and getting a tune out of them, although that was years ago.

But it wasn't happening under Harris either was it.

I didn't want Mick but people making out Harris was building a prime Barcelona is a bit wide of the mark.

I've come to a conclusion though.

Vincent Tan is a long ball man. Probably supported the crazy gang in their pomp.

I don't think so. At least there was a possibility that Harris could kick on with us. It didn't happen, but we know exactly what we're getting with McCarthy.

Yet again, the pathetic lack of imagination or ambition from those in charge is exposed by this appointment.

Tan needs to sell up. The entire set up needs to go. The state of this football club, jesus wept.
