I think there’s a good chance we can get Doyle for another year.
Tommy Doyle has got the name and look of a player who should be on football card from the 70's. Be good if we can keep him. He suits a Cardiff City shirt. Tidy player.
Since we got them all in, we're third in the form table behind only Sheffield United and Fulham.
It's all irrelevant of course because we're not third in the actual table. We're a mid table team because of what happened in the first half of the season, not because of the team we have now - which is a team in promotion form.

we've also had a fairly soft schedule since then. not many people will be expecting much out if the next 2 games, which tells me we are a mid table team at best still

I'm not sure there is such a thing as a soft schedule in the Championship, especially as we've been playing every 3 days.
But even taking away points won and opponents played, it's hard to judge where this team is at because there are so many players who are still developing.
If we'd started the season with this team, I'd say we'd probably be somewhere around 12th.
But if you gave me the exact same team for next season, I think we'd be challenging for playoffs.

that's fair enough
also fwiw, the team currently in 12th - Preston are currently only 5 points off a playoff spot, so the difference between the two is well within the realms of having a couple of lucky results
We still do not know who will be the manager for the summer window, despite Morison definitely getting his foot well and truly through the door.
And if the January window is anything to go by, Morison together with his team has shown an ability to identify players that are beneficial to the team and not simply anothet name on the teamsheet. That helps to further prove that he may have what is needed come the next window when a big rebuild is required with so many first team seniors due to leave the club unless a new contract is agreed. Of those due to expire I think it's imperative Cardiff keep Ralls. Whenever he has been absent from the matchday squad this season, it has shown how reliant Cardiff are for him to
balance the midfield, experienced, good with dead ball situations, and a box to box engine. And then there are the youngsters showing promise that may gain interest from teams with some money to spend. Predominantly Bagan, Davies and Colwill - losing any of these would be a particular blow going into the new season.
As for those on loan it's hard to say, since if they continue to show promise, either their parent clubs give them an opportunity in their own first team or they may garner interest from teams with better prospects than Cardiff in either Premier League or Championship.

I'd say less chance of Drameh, unless Leeds make a signing in that position.
Doyle I wouldn't be surprised to see going out on loan again, as it's a very tough ask to get into that midfield
Absolutely. The lad Cole Palmer looks a real special talent for them in the FA Cup game earlier this season and he can’t get in the squad for league games. As good as Doyle is for his age is he going to break into Citys first team any time soon?I don’t think so. He’s not Phil Foden special.
