That thing about clubs struggling to work out the playing style and tactics of some promoted clubs has got to be utter bollocks, surely? It has to be down to momentum and then the promoted club not having the ability to improve their players enough to adapt or being piss poor with recruitment. I can't imagine top end premier League managers scratching their heads on the touchline at the likes of Sheffield United and Leeds. It's a lazy comment in my opinion, in line with its harder to play against 10 men.

For those calling him overrated, he turned a championship average club into a top 10 prem team playing great football until he lost his two best players the following season.
That doesn’t make him a ‘genius’ though? And if it does, is Chris Wilder also a genius? And if so what does that make someone like Brian Clough?! Yep

(I’m not saying that you ARE calling him a genius btw, but I have heard people on various well respected podcasts - clearly missed by some on here - who have described him thus. Utterly deluded)

Erm, that’s why I said Sheffield United & Leeds had to evolve and change tack.

I thought they did catch them cold at first, like us with those two Campbell headers against Man City, we couldn’t sustain it though, that was a highest point that season, fair play to Leeds & Sheffield though they did for a season. Anyway f*ck Leeds:hehe:

I don't hate Leeds, i'm no fan, but isn't it a 70's thing as to why they're hated so much?

As I said, no thanks. The mans an oddball, has had 12 managerial jobs in the last 22 years, sits on a bucket at pitch side during games with his head in his hands usually staring at the pitch, has made no effort in over 4 years to learn how to communicate in the language of the country he is working in, has won nothing of note in his career in Europe unless you include the Championship title, encourages his teams to pass the ball to death amongst themselves and dive all over the place, engaged in subterfuge by spying on opposing teams and yet for some reason is described as a ‘great manager’ by some deluded people, presumably including yourself. I would rather have Mick McCarthy as our manager than him and thats saying something.

In fairness, the pitch is a reasonable thing to be staring at when you’re a football manager.

                          Oh come on

He took a pretty average Leeds team all the way to 9th in the Premier League, took Bilbao to domestic and European finals, won titles in Argentina and has influenced some pretty good managers. He has his eccentricities but saying you'd rather Mick McCarthy is madness and you know it. Also he began managing in 1990, not 2000.
