Never in the history of the Championship has a side that has been that far above the drop zone at this stage of the season been relegated. In fact, no sides with any double figure advantage, even slightly lower, have gone down. Part of that might be down to the fact that, in general, a 13 point advantage over 22nd would mean mid table, occasionally top half.
It should be pointed out that Barnsley in 22nd have 23 points. Most times, a team at this point in the table in 22nd would have early 30s as a points tally, rarely has it dropped below 30, so points deductions etc have had an effect, while Peterborough and Barnsley have been utter gash.
I would suggest we are safe, it would be a major surprise, almost unheard of, if we went down from our current position. A win over Derby on Tuesday would, for me, absolutely guarantee survival.
