Suppose a player who was about to take a penalty got himself sent off just before he took it. What would happen then?

I assume the answer is yes as players can get sent off before and after a game.

Scenario: player walks up to take a pelanty. Goalkeeper says something to wind him up. Player ends up thumping the goalkeeper. Ref sends him off.

a goalkeeper is sent off during the shoot-out,*another player who finished the game must act as goalkeeper. If a player, other than the goalkeeper, becomes injured or is sent off during the shoot-out, then the shoot-out will continue with no substitution allowed.
