I've seen them twice live this season, against pole opposites. The first against Man City, where they secured a 0-0 draw and on Friday night securing a 2-0 against a poor Norwich side. Admittedly Norwich are poor and base everything about getting the ball to Pukki, but was really impressed with the slick passing and skill from a really good looking Southampton team. Their football seems light years ahead of Championship standard and the gap seems to be widening.

Re: Are Southampton Good ?
They do seem to be doing something right.
They also seem to have a good manager who is trying to play "progressive" football.
A couple of nine nil defeats fairly recently hasn't seemed to faze him or the team.
Imagine what it would be like on here if that happened to us! :yikes:

It's good that they believe in the process. If they all buy in they have none chance of success.Originally posted by MacAdder View PostThey do seem to be doing something right.

Perhaps this is why Bielsa is struggling now.

Re: Are Southampton Good ?
This is a really interesting point about how the owners, supporters and players reacted to those two drubbings - doesn't seem to have harmed them keeping faith in the 'process' and the coach. His first game was against us too wasn't it?Originally posted by MacAdder View PostThey do seem to be doing something right.

Yep - that's very true. Though they do seem fairly safe, in the mid-table bunch of 'six reasonable sides who tend to stay up' along with Everton, West Ham etcOriginally posted by Ivortheengine View PostAverage team in a league devoid of any real quality once you get out of the top 6 teams.
