Re: reading accounts
I’m no football finance expert, but even I can see that those figures are ridiculously bad - as Rjk says the wages figures are barmy even by Championship standards. You just have to get promoted with spending like that, but the truth is that, apart from that one season under Stam, they’ve not even finished in the top six in the years when their debts rocketed.

Re: reading accounts
the mental thing for me is when they last had parachute payments their wage bill was something like £27m, but then after they lost the money the wage bill rocketed up to £35m, then £41m, then £38m and now £32m. utter lunacy.Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostI’m no football finance expert, but even I can see that those figures are ridiculously bad - as Rjk says the wages figures are barmy even by Championship standards. you can see how much of an unfair advantage the parachute payments are in some of those graphs, it seems that increasingly clubs are making it count, we utterly wasted that advantage.

Re: reading accounts
Stoke City’s accounts make ours look really good. An £87 million loss for 2019/20 followed by a £55 million loss for 2020/21. Surely this means they will be heading for a points deduction given you cannot sustain losses of more than £39 million in any three year period.

Yes, Stoke and bristol were likely to be in trouble for FFP, potentially a few others too.Originally posted by Pearcey3 View PostStoke City’s accounts make ours look really good. I think Stoke's debt is all owed to the owner, who doesn't charge any interest on it, but it is still a horrendous situation.

Yes, for tax period, 19/20 we lost £12m,Originally posted by Father Dougal View PostWe are normally a steady million a month loss aren't we? Football finances baffle me!
Stoke lost a staggering £88m, Fulham £48m , Bristol City £38m (20/21)
Cardiff made a £14m profit on player sales (19/20)
Our accounts should be out soon
