I think he may have been someone who lived life to the full, but Jeez, you don’t expect to hear things like that - I was only watching him being interviewed by Nasser Hussain and Robert Key last week.
He showed his brilliance and class in a great, but ageing, Aussie team in 2005 when, if anything, he raised his game as he realised this was finally an England side that could give them a real run for their money.
If you’re talking about true greats of the game, he’s up there with Bradman, Sobers etc - as Major says, arguably the best bowler ever, definitely the best spinner ever in my book.

The film Shane on Amazon Prime is well worth a watch. His influence on the IPL at the start, aswell the build up to him achieving his 700th test wicket were particularly good.
