The Heathcock is my local now that The Radyr Court on Danescourt has gone. It's a pleasant pub with good beer but the food is a bit on the poncy side and is expensive

It's in a good location to attract people who quite like poncy expensive food. Jay Rayner's review will only enhance that.
Considering it was closed for a while and looking like it would never reopen, it seems to be doing pretty well.

It is, and it's good that you can go in and enjoy a pint without eating. Too many pubs are more like restaurants these days and don't have space for people who just want a drink.

There are going to be a lot of new houses built, where the BBC used to be, so the future should be good.

It was one of my favourite watering holes for years. Used to do the round Malsters, black Lion Butchers Heathcock and back again. But I only went there once since the old landlord left and that was shortly after, and it was not good.
I know the new people are building a good rep but I cant be arsed to walk there The butchers is the furthest I can be bothered these days and it take 3 mins 40 Seconds to get there from my house :hehe:

Which landlord was that? There's been a few. It was good when the two gay blokes with the dog were there. They did a runner when Enterprise Inns put the rent up. It then closed for awhile and was awful when it reopened and then closed again before the current people took over.

No idea, I can never remember going. :hehe:
But that's the furthest one and from there home is down hill.
From the Black Lion it's under 3 minutes (I think )
