Passed away, aged 94. Some of you may have witnessed this lovely man breaking into song at various places around the city. Very often beautifully serenading shoppers in St David’s Shopping Centre. RIP Mr Howard, a true Cardiff legend.

Sad news, though he got to a good age. I remember him bursting into song at Asda Pentwyn - that would have been around 11 or 12 years ago. Always put a smile on my face. RIP.

Was he a tall black gentleman, who lived in Rumney ? There is (or was) such a man near me who had a wonderful deep rich singing voice.

In answer to my earlier question, my wife has confirmed that the gentleman we could hear singing whilst we were in our garden was indeed Neville Howard. RIP Neville

Was he a tall black gentleman, who lived in Rumney ? There is (or was) such a man near me who had a wonderful deep rich singing voice.

Yeah, I live in Greenway Road and we could hear him singing quite clearly at times. No way did he look 94.
