  • RIP Brian Fear

Maybe not a name familiar to many of you, but synonymous with football in the Cynon Valley and he was President of the FAW during the 90s, having served on the FAW council since 1977 until his death. He has a stand named after him at Aberdare Town, formerly Aberaman Athletic. Was awarded a BEM 10 years ago for his services to sport and the community. I was lucky enough to get to know Brian, not just through football but church, where he always had the time to do any jobs that nobody else would do.

He passed away over a week ago and his funeral is tomorrow.

I remember Brian. I had a few games for Aberaman many moons ago. He was a decent bloke.

Most of the names in these types of threads aren't familiar to me in all fairness

You mean the type of thread where you don't know the person who's died?
        Strange that.

            Weird reactions.

It was a nod to the age difference between some of us on here. The ones I remember always seem to he younger (Warne) or simply really well known.

Well I thought yours was a weird reaction. It even says in the first line "maybe not a name familiar to many". Just leave the thread to those who did know him.

However this thread shouldn't become a dingdong so that's my last word.

It wasn't a ding dong when I posted. Apologies for thinking out loud, there are many RIP threads posted on here and GENERALLY I'm not familiar with the people mentioned, I was just stating that, maybe I didn't have to, but there was also no harm in me doing so also. Comments are generally harmless if you don't interact with them. My comment was harmless, you chose to react to it how you did, which is also nothing to do with me.
Why would I want a ding dong on anRIP thread weird assumption.

As always it'll be me that's accused of starting an argument, even when posting a harmless comment, such is the ccmb way.
