That would assume he knows what he’s doing. He doesn’t. People need to stop trying to make Gavin Whyte work. He’s not good enough and he’s playing as a 10/winger for Oxford. He’s not suddenly going to become a good wing back at 26

I'm not sure how Gavin Whyte fits into our formation, or even where his best position is these days.

We're only playing this formation because mick left us with no wingers aren't we? I'm not sure wing backs is all of a sudden the cardiff city way and even if so, hopefully morrison will have a plan b for next year which involves wingers.

This question has been asked to death. Whyte isn’t good enough to play for us or for the Championship. I hope he does well for Oxford, they go up and they buy him. One this for certain, he isn’t a wing back.

Jason Knight only has a year left on his Derby deal. He’s a good player. Ebosele probably isn’t realistic. Josh Laurent is out of contract, too. David Brooks is another apparently out of contract, if he makes a recovery (which I’m sure we all hope he does!) he would be a cracking player and could use us to get his career back on track.

It seems to be the formation of choice for most progressive teams at the moment.

That’s what I heard on a Podcast this week, I’ve not seen anything from him to indicate he could make a success of playing there in the Championship.

Has loads of energy and pace , not great control or end product, which fits the NW/ MM tactic

I think Whyte was more suited to the Warnock/Harris/McCarthy era and I hope we don't have him back now. Onwards and upwards!

As a number 10 or as someone to play off the main striker we have Harris, Davies and to an extend Colwill so not really a position we need unless they are better than those which he isn’t.

I’ve often wondered as a wingback as he has the energy but I think Morison will want a certain type of wingback like Doughty Dramah.

I really don’t see a place for him. If someone will cover his wages then it’s another off the bill to look for players elsewhere.

I think the fact Morison brought in two wingbacks on loan and not wingers and didn’t recall Whyte suggests he plans on keeping the wingback.

Most of our players are out of contract in the summer including Swift, Laurent, Yiadom, Rinomhota, Holmes, Morrison, Halilovic, Barker and Araruna.
We won’t be able to keep Swift. He will end up in the PL.
Of the rest I would want us to keep Rinomhota and Yiadom. Not bothered about the rest.

Kane Wilson & Matt Stevens from FGR. Hugill on a permanent. Doyle & Dremah on loans. Swift would be a bonus.

Need another decent centre half.
