Without trying to be too reactionary to today's 'effort', it has to be midfield. Wintle looks a class above anyone in the middle at the moment. We don't have a midfield that can control a game.

Re: Biggest changes needed for next season
You’re not being reactionary. Morrison’s appointment (for me) spoke volumes of where City and what next seasons ambitions are.Originally posted by Mr Soul '68 View PostI'm going to be reactionary and say that the biggest change we need is a new manager!
In defence of Morison, he has done better but in reality City were so crap performance wise and aesthetically he only had a low bar to raise. He’s also got the nucleus of a team that have been coached or instructed to play percentage football for what seems like forever.
Yesterday’s performance, where City made a poor championship side look like prime Barcelona was down to the coaching, tactics and dithering of the game management.
I’ve never been convinced, I’m less so about Morison now.

Re: Biggest changes needed for next season
I’m afraid I have to agree. The game was lost before kick off yesterday, due to the formation, tactics and team picked. He never made any adjustments and when he made the substitutions, he pulled the wrong player. It was like no preparation or study had been done and what the Jacks did and worse were allowed to continue to do was a surprise.Originally posted by Jordi Culé View PostYou’re not being reactionary. Re: Biggest changes needed for next season
I've had a bit of time to calm down now so I'll try and be a bit more objective.
I didn't think there was any lack of effort yesterday, just a whole lot of misplaced effort. The Jacks are an unusual team, I don't think there's any other team in the championship that plays like they do. I'm guessing the plan would have been to let them have the ball and hit them in the break but that went in the bin once they scored early. That made the lack of any change in the tactics completely bizarre and that's on Morrison. We looked totally unable to coherently press them, our forward players were going in ones and two allowing the Jacks to simply pass around them. What was needed was for the midfield three and the wing backs to push much higher up but that simply didn't happen.
Taking a wider view, I think the biggest concern for next season is that our main attacking threats are Drameh and Doyle both of whom are on loan. For me it makes it all the more imperative that Morrison uses what's left of the season to find a way to accommodate Colwill in the team.
That brings us on to the manager. For me yesterday's defeat is entirely on our poor tactics. However I think at the moment, given the upturn in form we've seen in the last few weeks, I'd be prepared to give him a bit more time. I have genuinely enjoyed quite a few of the games prior to yesterday which I haven't been able to say in a while. I just think he needs to have a bit more belief in our ability to play on the front foot and go out and attack teams.

Re: Biggest changes needed for next season
Mr 1 tactic manager. One way of playing, no clue how to counter teams who either pin our wing backs or stop the supply. Jesus, he is as basic as they come. As a fanbase, we were so ****ed off in terms of style and tactics, that most of us thought that a bit of pressing was revolutionary, when Morison arrived. He aint up to it in my opinion, his plan B is to put Tommy Doyle 5 yards further up the pitch.

Re: Biggest changes needed for next season
Agree with so much here ! I hope our manager is capable of taking criticism and can learn from his mistakes , would like to see Denham given game time to see if he can play at this level as well as finding a way to play Colwill and Doyle in the sme lineup and not making like for like substitutions when what we needed was a change tactically !Originally posted by Cardiff Ultra View PostI've had a bit of time to calm down now so I'll try and be a bit more objective.

Re: Biggest changes needed for next season
We played poorly and lost a game and this is your analysis ! The previous four games we won three and drew one and played well. Analyse that and stop throwing your toys out of the pram at the first opportunity. There were five players in our starting eleven that were under 21 and another two came on second half. The real disgrace yesterday were the fans that booed and abused our young players and left 20 minutes early.Originally posted by Tuerto View PostMr 1 tactic manager.
