  • O/T Steering Locks

Following on from the dash cam thread, are steering locks worth buying these days. They appear to have made a bit of a comeback ?

    Re: O/T Steering Locks

I tend to think of them as a visual time delaying tactic more than anything.
If there's 2 cars parked next to each other and one has a steering lock then it's less likely to be nicked. Similarly with cars being nicked using relays - it would put off a potential thief as they like a quick getaway.

I used one on my Splitty, but I also slide a wheel clamp on aswell

not sure if they are needed for modern cars though

Excellent, I'd love to see it. Garaged? How often do you use it?

he was always garaged yes, but when we moved 2 years ago, we put loads of box's and white goods in the garage and he's now under a cover on the drive ( till I build a double garage ) , the cover worked great keeping him Dry ( not a spot of rust ), though the paint on the roof corners peeled ( its a common problem with desert bus's ) as it got too hot under the cover, not a massive job to repaint above the gutter line, but still a pisser

used to drive him all the time in the summers, but over the last 2 years been left on the drive as not many places to go, it was great to take Daughter ( and 7 other friends ) to Prom in him

great to camp in, he is always a talking point, crack open a beer, sit next to him and some poor soul will always come over for me to bore :hehe:
