I followed a link to another story about Bale that featured the line "Will the emotional draw of playing for his boyhood club be enough to draw Bale back to Cardiff?" Boyhood club? He was at Southampton when he was 10. Apparently we are favorites to sign him with the bookies' odds at 13/8.

Not really any point though now the games don't mean anything. He probably gets a bonus for being on the bench that isn't worth paying. Plus, if Phillips happens to get an in game injury it wouldn't be the end of the world to see how Ratcliffe does.

Shame his last appearance in a Cardiff shirt will be conceding 4 against the jacks. Not a good way to bow out.
