I'm am slowly recalling the greats that were underrated

        Green on Red
        The Replacements
Jessie Malin Ex D Generation ( playing Newport Soon Le Pub 21st June 2022)
        Long Ryders
        Jason and The Scorchers

For those folk who like the unsung hero's of music Bob Mold of Husku Du , who in my mind have paved the way for Pixies, Nirvana, the Foo Fighters, Metallica, Green Day and many more plays the Globe in June 28.

The ‘Mats are definitely one of those sort of doomed, “shoulda been a contender ‘ma” type bands. Loved their stuff from the beginning till ‘pleased to meet you’.

Bob Mould definitely worth seeing live. Husker Du are/were one of my favourite bands ever, although they’re not recognisable in a mainstream sense they definitely had a big influence (in certain circles) so I never quite think of them as being underrated.

Mentioned Red on Green and I did have a bit of a re-listen to those Paisley Underground bands recently. Rain Parade in particular I liked a bit.

As you mentioned Big Black I thought I’d post Cardiff’s own answer (Slowjam): https://youtu.be/QzA19BnsdGE

Gentle Giant, a really underrated prog-rock band:

John Weathers (drummer) originally from Carmarthen. He later moved to Swansea and played with Man after Gentle Giant disbanded.

Talk Talk.Mark Hollis was hugely talented but how many people knew his name? A sad loss.

I saw the eclectic Henry Cow at the Temple of Peace in Cardiff in the 1970's.

                          Brilliant CF own .

                          How about this quote :

Skindred's Benji Webb: "punk rock was born in Newport"

                          He is a top fella

Good shout. Although not necessarily underrated, just not particularly successful. Although, Lee Mavers probably bears some responsibility for that.
