South Wales Police: First black officer Derrick Hassan dies

Derrick Hassan was a mentor to others, and encouraged people from minority groups to join the force.

SW Police are particularly under-represented by minority ethnic officers at senior ranks and by women and ethnic minorities in some specialist departments.

Hopefully this will change.

You hardly ever see a black or Asian copper in Cardiff

And that's a poor show

West Midlands, Greater Manchester different situation altogether
