I think it's as simple as the club believing that King is a better prospect and from what I have seen of them both I tend to agree.

I'm all for youth development, we need to be better at it for the sake of our soul, but we can't expect half a dozen new players in the 1st team squad from the Academy every season. Hopefully, Isaak Davies, Colwill, King, Denham and Bagan will all get plenty of game time next season and maybe one or two new ones. Ashford, Hughes, Tom Davies or Crew?
