    I see Mendez-Laing is playing for MK Dons this season and scored 7 goals in 17 appearances. That's an superb stat.

    Callum Paterson is also there with 8 goals in 24 appearances. Not too bad at all.

        He’s just had hamstring surgery and is out until at least March.

            Yes. Hoilett was a more intelligent player but lacked the tenacity of NML whereas NML was the opposite.

            Warnock once reflected on his own playing career as being the classic "quick and brainless winger", which is exactly what NML was for us.

              The difference being that whereas Warnock was very much a lower league journeyman, Mendez-Laing gave a few Premier League full backs a tough outing.

                True. Also, he scored the two goals at Old Trafford in the last game of the Premier League.
