  • RIP John Gwynne

Passed away this morning afte a battle with cancer. John was one of the legends of the darts commentary box with Sid Waddell and Dave Lanning. He was also a regular providing lower league updates on Soccer Saturday. A lovely guy.

He’d always be reporting from places like Rochdale, Bury, Oldham and Bolton - a very distinctive voice that was made for commentary.

I always enjoyed his commentaries on Soccer Saturday. It seemed as if he didn't need to use of a microphone - I said to my wife one day that we could open a window and probably here his commentary from wherever he was at the time.

              RIP John Gwynne
