I know it’s a job where you have to deal with pissed up people but is it a prerequisite to be an arsehole these days

Every single one of them in town Saturday seemed to be there just to cause problems

I've made it a habit to not enter any premises where there are three or four blokes stood on the door, who look like they could smash my head in, fold me up and put me in a post box. I'm odd like that.

I have a very simple approach to entertainment establishments at night

People in them have almost always been drinking so I avoid them completely

No, no, no... for a lot of these bouncers it IS their dream job! Such is their mindest.

They’ve improved in the last 20 years in my opinion.

Haven’t seen one beating someone up in a while.

Or maybe I’m just less of a dick these days

I’ll be honest I’ve never had any issue with any bouncers. Some haven’t let me in places at times but just moved on.

Encountered an absolute **** of a bouncer the other month. Refused me and my friend entry for no apparent reason and then threatened to punch me when I said he was on a power trip. They're meant to keep the peace, not incite fights.

Like everything in life it has good and bad, I've known a few lads and they were fine , but they would tell you a long night of being insulted by drunks was difficult to manage and can get to them ,lets be fair there not there to be samaratians .

I find the problem is the behaviour of people in drink ,
never had any rumbles with bouncers, but had a few flash points with drunks .
