"UK 'must come down hard' on South Africa variant
Hancock says 105 cases of the South Africa variant have been identified in the UK, 11 of which don't appear to have links to international travel."

How can a check be made on those who have entered the UK illegally?

I have a strong suspicion that if you are a illegal immigrant, giving all your details to the authorities from COVID testing wouldn't be high on your agenda

What I am trying to say is that illegal immigrants could well be a contributing factor to variants but the government may choose not to mention this.

Only 105 cases, to date, have been identified.

This MAY be a very small % of the actual number of cases.

Illegal immigrants MAY have been in contact with infected person(s) in the chain of infection from South Africa.

Illegal immigrants, who have no record of UK entry, MAY then have passed variant on.

The 11 cases quoted MAY not have had direct contact with person(s) from South Africa.

Or maybe its because of the thousands who have come in legally.
