Re: the pitfalls of allowing sponsors to name stands...
As you can see from this graphic, the remaining area of the pitch the Club still has legal access to forms the shape of a swastika. It goes without saying that this symbol of hatred is completely at odds with the views, values and ethos of Streatham Rovers Football Club. https://t.co/NHFggqvbqA

So is this getting all meta? Was this a joke on a parody Twitter account picked up as true by the MSM and reported as fact but is in fact a joke after all? Or did Southend FC really make tw*ts of themselves without realising it?Originally posted by Mr Soul '68 View Post

Either every news outlet in the country has fallen for it or the club made complete tw4ts of themselves. I think it's the latter.Originally posted by Citizen's Nephew View PostSo is this getting all meta? Or rename the current East stand and the West stand and vice versa.Originally posted by NYCBlue View PostAll they have to do is remove the word west. As the other stands are each named north, south, and east. It shouldn't be too confusing.
By the way, the Swiss team 'Young Boys' play at the 'Wankdorf Stadium'.

I was playing Football Manager a few years ago and I saw one of the headlines being about a player linked with a transfer and that he was "keen on Young Boys".Originally posted by Taunton Blue Genie View PostOr rename the current East stand and the West stand and vice versa.

Also, the Southend story has been confirmed as the Chairman has given an interview and expressed his disappointment at this happening, but doesn't seem to be in control of naming rights in the stadium. Odd.
