Considering "Southern England has suffered its driest July since records began in 1836", no, summers like this don't happen every year.

        Re: 30 degrees this week

I was in southern Spain last week and one of my friends said as we were travelling to the airport "just think, this is what the UK landscape could look like in 20 years or so". Dry, dusty and barren agriculture outside the major resorts and towns and I tend to agree if these summers carry on in the UK, 25-35 degrees each year.
Problem being is what will those landscapes in Southern Spain, Portugal, Greece, etc then look like. Sahara desert? completely unlivable?

By then wars won't be fought over religion, oil or gas.....it'll be water.
Live each day now and enjoy. :tumbleweed:

It's more than a little worrying

When was the last time we had winters in the UK?

It's getting milder and wetter but we don't need the wet in November, we need batches of it during the summer

Our population is getting older and they really suffer in the heat

Get yourself down to a beach late pm…jump in the sea and cool down. Just spent the day down at Pembrey with the kids, lovely temp in the sea, gentle breeze, forests to cool off in right next to the beach. A few miles up (it’s 8 miles long) is for nudists too sludge so further interest for you…..

It's not even that hot, especially if you compare it to Spain and the Med.

You need something more basic. A 20" box fan. $30.

I don't live in Southern England?

It's really hot in Dubai that doesn't bother me either?
