Protesters getting more brazen as well as police on egg shells.

Mentioned on here that I’m thinking of getting a gun.
Never wanted one, don’t really want one now, but sadly think we might need one if things carry on.

Surely this one picture sums up the situation in the southern states. One guy who has the sense to wear a face covering is confronted by 3 mouthy rednecks. Note the graphics on the T shirt - maybe the wording should be changed from snowflakes to rednecks don't last long in Texas!

Listen to Ben Carson the U.S. Housing Secretary talking on the Andrew Marr programme yesterday. A black man himself, brought up in a poor family, he had some interesting comments about growing up in Detroit and the situation there today. Presumably similar to Chicago?

Update: The spread of coronavirus infections has taken a "swift and very dangerous turn" in the US state of Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has warned.

"Over just the past few weeks, the daily number of cases have gone from an average of about 2,000, to more than 5,000," Mr Abbott said on Sunday.

Several southern and western states have recorded a surge in cases after lockdown restrictions were eased.

The governor says 5,000 people are being diagnosed with the virus as Texans are told to wear masks.

Yesterday's combined new cases figure for Texas, California and Florida came to just below 28,000;-

Texas COVID-19 Coronavirus update by county with statistics and graphs: total and new cases, deaths per day, current active cases, recoveries, historical data, trends, projections, and timeline.

California COVID-19 Coronavirus update by county with statistics and graphs: total and new cases, deaths per day, current active cases, recoveries, historical data, trends, projections, and timeline.

Florida COVID-19 Coronavirus update by county with statistics and graphs: total and new cases, deaths per day, current active cases, recoveries, historical data, trends, projections, and timeline.

Face masks now mandatory in all Texas counties with more than twenty Covid cases.

It was inevitable when you watch the videos of how the Americans have been acting?

Any chance that this virus may mutate and stay around longer?

That crazy, they have a lot of old retired people too so should be an increase in deaths in the coming months, I suppose the climate is going to help them though with Winters like our summer/Autumn.

Why is the climate going to help them.... or were you being ironic?

The virus spreads less easily in warmer climates, colder Winters will be worse for the continued spread of the virus.

We are sure to have a big spike this Winter.

Just like any flu really tends to be more prolific in the winter

Yes Australia has it worse now than they did in March.
