Re: 1st championship manager sacking
Makes no sense to let your manager make 16 signings over the summer then sack him after 5 league games.Originally posted by Mr Soul '68 View PostBit harsh and a bit strange. 4 points from 5 games and not in the relegation zone. Were the owners expecting some sort of miracle and hoping they would be in the Top 2 after 5 games?

Re: 1st championship manager sacking
It definitely seems a bit early. 4 points from 5 IS a bad start in this league but with such a squad overhaul, you'd think they'd have at least given him a few more games to turn it around.Originally posted by Undercoverinwurzelland View PostMakes no sense to let your manager make 16 signings over the summer then sack him after 5 league games.
Who knows, there might be more going on behind closed doors.

Re: 1st championship manager sacking
O’Neill was under pressure going into the season, so, I agree, it’s odd allowing him to make so many signings and then sack him after they’ve made a below par, but hardly disastrous, start to their campaign. It does make you think that someone they want as manager has said he’s willing to take the job.

Re: 1st championship manager sacking
If they do have Dyche lined up then they'd be fools not to have him. I think our GD is -1 after 5 so far? (we've scored 3 and conceded 4) and one of those 3 was a 'pass' :hehe:Originally posted by the other bob wilson View PostO’Neill was under pressure going into the season, so, I agree, it’s odd allowing him to make so many signings and then sack him after they’ve made a below par, but hardly disastrous, start to their campaign.
