It's an 'upgrade' to a more recent software. I guess like all devices / services they get vulnerable if they don't get updated.

I'm finding (and losing) things as I go along. Keep the feedback coming.

Smilies not working.

The icon far right above the comment/reply box brings up a list of smilies (no icons) - but I can't post any.

added a sherlock smily to test but looks like it doesnt work having selected it

When emojis on a vBulletin forum display as question marks (???) or empty boxes, the root cause is usually a missing utf8mb4 database character set. Emojis are 4-byte characters, and older vBulletin databases running on utf8 or latin1cannot process them.
