quick reply is working fine

There used to be a quick reply after each message in a thread. now you have to go to the bottom of the thread for the reply .

yea, but the quote surely means no need for the quick reply

then if you dont need to quote a message, the reply works fine

I'm fine with that.I was trying to explain to others who were looking for the option.

how many topics are displayed on the front page? it seems that can be changed by the user via their account settings. I can only seem to get 10 on mine. Some of my admin options seem a bit random at the moment. I wonder if things are still settling down.

the notifications at the top is easy to see and use aswell, very Facebook like, just click on the notification

Yes - only 10 topics/threads displaying on a page. There used to be more - I think 20 was the max.

In Settings (Account) I have got the 'show 40 posts per page' option ticked - and that is working fine.

Image option on the toolbar above the post reply box. If it's hidden click the A button next to the smilie button (top right of the repoly box). You can right click on an image online and save image address. and then post that. there's a little check box to untick after you've posted the URL of the image
