Gladiator's on lads, top movie.
Troy is another one.
Anyone got any recommendations for "must watch" movies?
Two cracking movies.
I was fortunate enough to see Troy on an "old school" big screen and it was just awesome, primarily as the CGI wasn't overdone.
Other "must watch" movies:
The first two Star Wars movies (episodes 4 and 5)
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
2001 A Space Odyssey
Saving Private Ryan
The Shawshank Redemption
Lawrence of Arabia
Blade Runner
The Godfather
Terminator 2
Feck me I'm stopping there, any Kubrick or decent budget Leone could go on that list!
One mans trash is another mans treasure.
Pointless thread imo along with best band, best singer, best take away, best top bird, best....ad infinitum.
Here's an example.i thought Troy was garbage, but i'm glad you enjoyed it.
One of the best films I've seen is in Japanese.
If you don't mind subtitles, check out "Ran", directed by Akira Kurosawa.
It's a sort of King Lear set in feudal Japan.

Ran is excellent, very colourful and with some great battle scenes.
My personal Kurosawa favourite is Hidden Fortress, a must watch for Star Wars fans. It's a very strange experience watching a B&W 1950s film in Japanese with two peasants bickering about their lot in life as they wander through the desert and realising that they would later become R2D2 and C3PO!
