Why sign all those players only to let him go so quickly?

They signed Auba purely because him and Tuchel have worked well together and he ended up playing less than an hour under him.

The problem is he could well go through a bad patch with Brighton and be sacked within a couple of months himself.

He will be perfect fit for the FA bright man once lectured football at the University. He has two university degrees , Master’s degree in leadership, personal / professional development., leadership and emotional intelligence.

Given all that money to spend in the summer and a recent Champions League winner, it seems mad, but,after seeing him in that game against Spurs, I'm not altogether surprised- he looked like a man under real pressure that day.

A new manager will come in, probably offload a few players for £50 million and spend another £150 million. These PL owners [top 7/8] have bottomless pockets and will literally spend anything it takes to win as much ubiquitous 'silverware' as they can. True, these clubs have enormous income from all sources, but they're not run on a business model. Just run up massive debt that the clubs aren't accountable for. The total window spend in the PL exceeded the German,Spanish and Italian leagues combined.
