The same applies to all the top clubs. Throw in Champions League football as well and teams below cant compete.

If Chelsea want him he will be gone.

There is a footballing incentive to play for teams like Liverpool and Man City, the only reason to join Chelsea is for the money.

There could be something in that.
Some of these billionaire owners just aren't football people.

I'd hazard a guess and say they are being advised by other footballing people outside of the club, (they'd be stupid if they weren't).

Could argue that some players may prefer to go to London than up North.

If Liverpool and Man City paid the wages an fees of Brighton theyd soon slip down the league same as Chelsea.

It all comes down to wealth. The wealthy teams get the best players and thats it really.

If Potter goes to Chelsea does it rule him out of replacing Southgate if he leaves England after the World Cup? Would cost the FA a lot more to prize him away from Chelsea.

**** that, i would! I've always been like it, especially when contracting. I crossed the road to another building site because they were paying an extra 50p per m2. No loyalty from me when it comes to selling my labour and skills.

Because if it had been 18 months or so ago the job could easily have gone to him, but his current predicament makes him damaged goods

Bang on! Most employers don't give a stuff about you, if the shit hits the fan then they'll bomb you out without a second thought. It's just work at the end of the day, get in, get out and get paid as much as possible :thumbup:
