It's hard to judge him on the adultery thing, he did what he thought was right at the time and married someone his family pushed him to marry. Did he love her? Looks like probably not the way he was meant to, but he must have done to some extent. It obviously doesn't help that his family pushed for it when it sounds like he'd already decided who he did love...

Any guesses for what's wrong with King Charles' mitts? My first thought was gout. Maybe a combination of diabetes and inbreeding is worth an each-way punt.
