has picked up an injury which ruled him out of yesterday's match for Sheffield Wednesday and manager Darren Moore says he'll be sidelined for "weeks" apparently.

Re: Mark McGuinness..............
Only seen him yesterday so it would be harsh to write him off but for the moment the question is whether hes better than Denham.Originally posted by fugsyphil View PostI don't see any upgrade bringing in Simpson for McGuiness
Id say Bagan and Denham have to pushing to start if those in possession dont perform.

He doesn't seem to rate Denham or McGuiness too highly. The problem with Simpson appears to be inconsistency.Originally posted by Hilts View PostOnly seen him yesterday so it would be harsh to write him off but for the moment the question is whether hes better than Denham.

It's a mystery as to why we didn't look to bring in another centre back if that is indeed the case.

I still don't get why we sold Connolly after he impressed at RoversOriginally posted by Ninja View PostHe doesn't seem to rate Denham or McGuiness too highly. The problem with Simpson appears to be inconsistency.

Because he was in the last year of his contract here and wouldnt sign another one (which was on the table) unless we guaranteed him a place in the team.Originally posted by City123 View PostI still don't get why we sold Connolly after he impressed at Rovers

Re: Mark McGuinness..............
Definitely made sense to cash in on Connolly if he wasn't going to sign a new deal. Think the club did the right thing. Hope we got a decent sell on, though.Originally posted by dml1954 View PostBecause he was in the last year of his contract here and wouldnt sign another one (which was on the table) unless we guaranteed him a place in the team.

He was a Mick signing.Originally posted by life on mars View PostMark McGuinness was developing really well and then ??
I know he was highly rated as a youngster but don't think he has ever really looked like fulfilling that potential, probably why bigger clubs were never in for him.
I suspect maybe Mick decided to take a gamble that hasn't paid off.

He's 21. He's played 34 games at Championship level and looked half decent in a struggling side. He's also done well at Wednesday, their fans rate him.Originally posted by Ninja View PostHe was a Mick signing.

I can't say he's looked too bad when I've seen him to be fair. Obviously we don't see him in training, but can he be any worse than Nelson?

Re: Mark McGuinness..............
He seemed to make a few to many mistakes but that’s just lack of experience, he certainly has something. I don’t think one of him or Denham going out on loan was a bad choice. I still don’t get why we brought in Simpson though.
