Re: STEVE MORISON SACKED
I'm not big on stats, but there's no arguing with that really!Originally posted by Pedro de la Rosa View PostWe have the 21st most shots in the league, the 24th most shots on target in the league, the 23rd most shots in the box, the 20th most shots in the 6 yard box, and the 4th most shots outside the box, because we don't create anything inside it.
Our attack under Morison was pitiful. We are one of the worst sides in the league going forwards and we create less than almost every side.

Re: STEVE MORISON SACKED
I just know that they’ll give the job to Hudson as he is available and cheap. He may be fine, and I was OK with Morison having the job, but it just seems like such a depressing cycle.
Warnock was the last appointment that got me excited. Either side of that we have had Slade (who I’d never heard of), Harris who was as much of a joke as he was uninspiring and Mick who was completely left field and turned out that way.
If Hudson gets it they may as well have just stuck with Morison.
As we have put together a squad of free transfers, I just can’t see us splashing out now on a manager with a successful track record. :-(

Re: STEVE MORISON SACKED
Thats not entirely true is it. Unless you are suggesting that high earners like Bacuna , Vaulks , Flint , Pack , Smithies should have been kept on.Originally posted by blue lewj View PostWe're not the only team that pays them though are we.
We had to sign more players than all the other clubs because Vinny and the Chuckle Brothers wanted the wage bill reduced.
We needed a clear out and the wage bill reduced.
Weve beaten Championship clubs to the signature of players as well.
I dont think we are paying peanuts.
I do think we are a shambles of a club the way we are run.
Ownership and board are clueless.
Sadly we can moan all we like but if nobody wants to buy Vincent Tan out theres feck all we can do about it.

Tan has invested and wasted millions, but not with Morison.Originally posted by Ninja View PostNot my job to do so obviously!
If I was the owner, he'd be gone, I don't think anyone can argue that we've largely been abysmal. If you invest millions into a club, you expect better. Simple as that really.
He was told to strip the squad of high wage earners and out of contract players, then completely re build on free transfers.
He has done that and we are 15th after 10 games, playing better football than we have for many years.
Tell me what did you expect ?
A top 6 like many other deluded fans on here ?

Re: STEVE MORISON SACKED
“Backed accordingly” with a budget of zeroOriginally posted by olderblue View PostWell that's one opinion, but in reality football is unlike any other business, we saw managers in the Chsmpionship getting sacked only weeks after the season started.
The average tenure for a Championship manager is what, 18 months or so?
Everyone knows its bonkers, but and it's a big but
Everyone involved knows the score before getting involved.
Morison would have known this and his job, that he accepted would have had some guidelines
He didn't get rid of the dross, as in reality most of them were coming to the end of their lucarative contracts.
Therefore you could argue that he had a clean sheet to bring in his own players, and was backed accordingly
I don't think theres any such thing as a real free transfer now it's just about the player getting a signing on for rather than his old club getting the cash.
Knowing the limited timeframe that he had to operate in, he brought in players to do a job
I very much doubt that the guidelines he was given included the option of producing a team that couldn't score goals, or that had no bottle for a fight
We have become too easy to play against, its Morisons team and in a results driven business you either deliver or go, it's nothing more complicated than that
Looking at the results for 10 games, we have taken 11 points out of 30 on offer
That's a fact and it simply isn't good enough
It's a results driven business, rightly or wrongly and you don't have time or the luxury for projects

Re: STEVE MORISON SACKED
That’s about the only thing our board have got right because if he’d had 10M the football would still be the same as would the stats. It’s what happens when you let Neil Harris’s understudy manage Cardiff City.Originally posted by DubaiDai View Post“Backed accordingly” with a budget of zero

Re: STEVE MORISON SACKED
You think the free agents are on work experience? Sawyers was an established championship player, he wasn’t cheap. Rimo came here because Reading couldn’t match us. Then there’s 500k on a “project” when our striking options were Waters and Harris.Originally posted by DubaiDai View Post“Backed accordingly” with a budget of zero
Tan’s biggest fault here was giving Morison the rebuilding job, he should have been gone after Swansea last season

Cardiff have the best open play xGA in the Championship, whilst being fine going forward. He also had to deal with integrating 17 new players, whilst also changing the style of play. Before Morison — 19% of Cardiff’s possession was long balls, he cut that down to 12% https://t.co/1fcvfQJeUh
