Next match: Pre-season. Saturday, July 11th | FC Midtjylland (H) @ Cardiff City Stadium, 12:30pm -
All pre-season fixtures
I was there today, it was grim. An honest 50/50 challenge with no malice on either side. Happened outside the Chesham box, one Merthyr player laid it off for another to shoot and their defender slid in just as the attacker was about to shoot and made contact at the same time. Awful sound and the defender’s leg was at a horrific angle afterwards.
No ambulance after 50mins, when I left, which is shocking. Really hope he makes a recovery as it looked very nasty.

Waiting that long with that sort of injury - that's dreadful.

Bloody hell. That’s horrible. The ambulance thing too. Best wishes to the lad.
When City's under 21s play at home (presume its' the same away as well), there's an ambulance and crew there all game just in case. I appreciate that it's impossible to do that at all games, but you'd have thought that, after the County match, there weren't many bigger football games being played in south Wales yesterday than the Merthyr one.
It's a shocking situation that you have to wait so long for an ambulance these days and then when one does turn up, you may be kept in it for hours when you get to the hospital because of either a lack of beds or not enough staff to deal with the patients as they arrive,
You can argue about party politics (UK Conservatives v Welsh Labour) until the cows come home, but the time is coming, it already has in my opinion, where there should be a national debate as to whether we want a National Health service any more or not and, if we do, then we have to pay accordingly for it.
One thing that's been ignored in all of the debate about Friday's fiscal event or whatever they want to call it, is that the money raised by the now cancelled National Insurance rises was supposed to be going to the NHS and/or care homes - do the zealots currently running the UK have any alternative revenue sources earmarked to replace that lost revenue? Of course not.
Hope the player concerned did eventually get the sort of service we used to take for granted when the ambulance eventually turned up and that he is doing as well as can be expected now.

I thought they said they will raise borrowing to replace the money that the NI rise would have provided.

That's Truss or Kwarteng's' solution to everything it seems - I'd not heard that, so, in essence, we'll end up paying it.
Here's a fact. My sister-in-law works in one of the major West Wales hospitals. Last Week she told me below Doctor grade 70% of staff are NOT employed by the NHS. They're earning up to £60 per hour and mostly work only 3 days a week.
