The mighty Taunton is in the draw. They did well to draw away at Yeovil on Saturday and earn a home replay this evening.

The mighty Taunton is in the draw. They did well to draw away at Yeovil on Saturday and earn a home replay this evening.

I didn't notice that Yeovil played Taunton in the cup.

A rare Somerset derby.

As bad a draw as it gets. Tough, away from home and no money of note to come from it.

On the contrary, whilst they are in the tier above, they are down the bottom, so its a winnable game and theres £41k for the winner. Better still get a draw up there then pack the park again in the replay and thats another £10/20k in the coffers.

Could still come out of this round £50/60k better off which is massive for a side like Merthyr. Could pay 4/5 players wages for the season.

Well, yes, there's opportunity in the game, no question, but I don't think an away tie to a small club in the league above is the ideal draw they would have been looking for.

Done very well to get this far anyway and hopefully will go further.
