  • West Ham v Bournemouth

WH gone 1 up just before half time.

How the hell was the goal allowed to stand when the ball was blatantly handled by a WH player in the build up?

That was so obviously a handball… what is the point of VAR if they can’t get that kind of decision right. An absolute shocker.

I felt the same when Kipre handled the ball yesterday and no penalty was given, Absolutely sick of these useless referees, they're ruining the game, as we saw against QPR. Surprised there wasn't more made of it on here, especially as some posters were so angry about the ref and his performance against qpr. It's almost like football fans are selective with their criticism, and are quite happy to take a really poor decision when it suits them. Very odd.

Yeah, Refs make mistakes, and in a way it's just part of the game for me, Win some, lose some, with decisions.

And now VAR has given a pen for a much more unintentional handball the other way.

dreadful decisions against Bournemouth. WH goal was clearly handball and that penalty decision was crazy!

Have you only just realised that ? It’s been like it for ages. Only the big clubs matter. They don’t want to know about the rest.
Last season at the “business end”, how did Everton manage to beat Chelsea Man Utd and Leicester, when they were certs to go down ? Makes you wonder, doesn’t it ?

It's all okay though, as it is only Bournemouth.

Gary O'Neil I'm sure will be philosophical about it in his interview soon saying something like "I'm sure these decisions will even themselves out in the end"

This technology and multiple rules for different situations depending on who is playing simply highlights the fact that the game at this level stinks.

I’m not sure why you keep posting in various threads about the ref not ruining the game against QPR? Very odd behaviour, is it because you tried to defend the ref’s decision at the time and took the hump when people disagreed with you?

The ref got a decision wrong in that game that completely changed it, he awarded an incorrect penalty through which a goal was scored and compounded it by sending a player off which was then later rescinded as an admission of error, a double whammy that fans of our club were upset about as it ended the game as a contest and completely affected the game.

Missing the handball on Sunday was again a mistake by a ref but hardly affected the game or the final result so no surprise it hasn’t been mentioned as a major factor in that game on here.

Good effort. People disagree with me aplenty, it hardly gives me the hump. As for odd behaviour? Well, i find double standards odd behaviour, it's footballs equivalent of nimbyism. Nobody on here berated the ref for making a poor decision yesterday, after all, isn't it about the ref getting things right, or is it just about us in terms of poor decisions? I suspect it is for the majority. I gladly took that poor decision yesterday, and i would have been even happier if it had been a crucial decision, i may have even popped open a can of Skol! But, on the flip side, i do believe that fans have to take it when it goes against us, especially if they're prepared to celebrate a bent decision going our way. You get me?

If you had been at the game on Sunday and witnessed the blatant penalty not being given, are you saying you would have been berating the ref right there and then for not giving the penalty?

I doubt very much you would have, in fact you would, as a Cardiff City fan, have probably felt rather relieved, right?
So that's how we all felt - relieved. We could all see it was obviously an incorrect decision. In fact, many have said so in various threads on this forum, but we're not going to change our feelings of relief for anger a few days later.
It's human nature that when wrong decisions go against you, you feel angry, when they go in your favour you feel relief.

No, you’re not making any sense at all! The disallowed goal against Coventry was contentious but didn’t completely change the nature of the game, the penalty and subsequent sending off against QPR did - not sure why that’s hard to understand?
