How long have you been speaking Welsh as a living language ?

I'm not having a go at you and I don't think it's malicious and I don't want to fall out with anyone....but this is where this stuff always goes and I'm sick of it tbh. F*ck anthems, flags and the like. It's not for me.
No I'm not. Wales official name in our own language is Cymru. Sorry you hate that.

So Wales shouldn't be called Cymru?

I don't hate it Eric. You're missing the point but I'll leave it there.

If you don't hate it, I don't see the problem.

Yes Cymru are promoted in the welsh press and media as being a growing movement regarding Welsh independence

              I think it's a con trick

If Wales was hurtling towards independence why do Plaid Cymru have less backing than the dreaded tories and why are marches of a few thousand people in Cardiff reported as significant ?

It's only a proposition regarding changing the nomenclature of the country to something more germane than the word 'foreigner', old fruit.

You can object to something without hating it

I object to motor racing , darts and snooker on the TV and it bores me but I don't hate it

In fairness, you see South Wales as an extended part of the SW of England and have said so several times.

Well the history of South East Wales since industrialisation is closer to Bristol and Gloucester than it is the rolling hills of dyfed

Or are you saying that's incorrect ?

Bristol , Somerset etc is a mixture of urban , semi urban and rural communities and is densely populated and cosmopolitan

                        Just like South East Wales

And very much unlike the rest of Wales

                        Non ?

I think that's a quaint but naive view tbh and I respect your interest in language/s. I have other concerns which I've outlined.

Language changes. You know this. They're all made-up words and looking backwards to a 'Golden Age' is where a lot of nationalistic problems start happening and that stuff gets exploited.

Quaint and naive. That's me

                              Ask away. It's utterly irrelevant.

Up to you, but it explains why you see yourself as barely Welsh.
