Absolutely right that one, and that's even if the universe isnt infinite.

A wise old timer I used to work with, once told me that...

"There are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on earth".

I looked at him as if to say.. "You've got that wrong".
However, he was adamant that he was right.

and the universe isn't even that big.

if we have a set of gears - 100 in total - each with a 10:1 gearing to next, and the first gear turns once per second, then the 19th gear wouldn't have even turned once if it started turning at the point of the big bang.

even more mind boggling, if you emptied the universe and placed a grain of sand in the universe each time we traversed the age of the universe, the universe would be full of sand before the 100th gear turned once.
