That's a big blow for France, as he is the best No.9 in the world, and has a knack for scoring all kinds of goals.

Out of all the favourites for the tournament, France seem to have come off worse in terms of injuries. Definitely not helped with teams only have a week together before the tournament, instead of the normal 3+.

Out of all the favourites for the tournament, France seem to have come off worse in terms of injuries. Definitely not helped with teams only have a week together before the tournament, instead of the normal 3+.

They have some good youngsters who can step into midfield, and Giroud can take over from Benzema.

Be interesting to see how the South American teams do, as since the nations league has come in, matches against European teams in friendlies have all but disappeared.

Brazil played one European team (Czech Republic) since losing to Belgium in the last World Cup.
