  • Anyone been to Sugar Loaf station in Powys?

You’re in good company if you have :hehe:

London Waterloo had the most passengers and Elton and Orston in Nottinghamshire the least.

I was puzzled for a bit as the only Sugar Loaf I know in Wales is near Abergavenny and there's only one stop there. But it looks like there's another near Llandovety.

Yeah, I’d not heard of it, makes you wonder how some of those smaller stations survived Beeching - provided they were open then.

Don't know if we have any request stops in Wales? I've never come across one.

Sugar Loaf station is a request stop only twenty nine miles from Treherbert - looks like it was closed under the Beeching review but then reopened in the eighties.

I came back from Builth Wells via Craven Arms on one occasion. I had to do a “ Portillo” and hold out my arm to stop the approaching train. I was the only person on the platform. A weird sensation
