But his starting 11 has no Ampadu, and a midfield of Rambo and Allen - which would be OK if this was 2016 again. But it isn't.

Rambo covered 12.54Km against the USA ( the most for a welsh player ), not bad for a player whose legs have gone

How much of it was chasing after players 10 years younger than him, because I can't remember him getting that close to anyone in a US shirt in the first half at least.

If we were going to play a 4-4-2, I'd go for Ampadu at the back with Ben Davies on the left and Neco on the right and Allen and Rambo in the middle, but that would be a very bold formation even against Iran. Or maybe you put Ampadu and Allen in the middle, Ramsey in the 10 role and Bale on the left and leave James out. Either way Johnson and Moore have to be in there somewhere.

I think that will be too bold for Page though, it will be 5 at the back again and he'll change it after 60 minutes if we need a goal or 45 if it's going as badly as Monday.

Page was making it sound like it would be three at the back in his interview today, but maybe he was telling porkies.

I think the best way to play against Iran is to get the ball in the box constantly - free kicks and corners and crosses.

They looked like they would concede every time england put in a ball.

If we can get plenty of crosses in, Moore will get a handful of goals.

If I were Page I would go more direct, hopefully get some early goals and then start hitting them on the break with Johnson and James pace.

Roozbeh Cheshmi, at 6'4" may be assigned to mark Kieffer at corners. Tallest bod in the Iranian team, I believe.

"girl" is probably not the best way to describe an overly emotional person in 2022. Especially when you can use adjectives and shit to like, describe stuff.
