BBC 2 7pm tonight. I know we never take it seriously but did enjoy our trip to Liverpool last season.

Re: F A Cup 3rd round draw tonight
Remember the days when the draw was done on the Saturday.
I can remember in 1979 when they did the 3rd round draw on Match of the day and we drew Arsenal at home.
I excitedly phoned my mate about the draw straight afterwards only to be bollocked by his dad for calling late at night.

Re: F A Cup 3rd round draw tonight
Back in the days when no one thought it was a good idea to let everyone know what every team’s number was before a ball was picked out. That said, City were nearly always number ten, but I always enjoyed trying to figure who we’d been drawn against.Originally posted by splott parker View PostTraditionally on a Monday dinner time, another thing that’s fallen by the wayside.

Re: F A Cup 3rd round draw tonight
City drawn away to Margate and played at Dover was an obscure one I attended. Not quite so packed as the crowd of 55, 316 crowd at Ninian Park in 1969 and which was a hell of a crush.
I was disappointed when we drew Tiverton away but they conceded home advantage to us. I came up on one of their two fan coaches, put a Bluebird toffee on each seat before people boarded and looked forward to the craic. However, it was a very civil and twee experience as many of the passengers had brought flasks and a picnic to have on the coach.

If we are ‘rewarded’ with a home tie, the club will retain our excitement by announcing the 2 blocks that will be open and thus signal that they don’t intend to put up a fight and don’t expect us to attend anyway.

I went to the Margate game at The Crabble, Dover. And after we did a booze cruise via the tunnel to load up with cheap drinks.Originally posted by Taunton Blue Genie View PostCity drawn away to Margate and played at Dover was an obscure one I attended. I was living in SE London at the time so it wasn't suck a trek.
